I have always been afraid of things like this, but I'd been looking at the purse pattern for a long time and finally decided to take the plunge. I found that it's much easier than I expected.

I've had a long while where I could not knit because of my hands. Things aren't perfect now but I can knit. I've been working on socks and hats.

She loves them. LOTS. she loves green, so these are awesome!

A hat for Mitchell to wear while working, though he says it's girly so it may be mine.

My hat. I love it. It's a loose, floppy hat, kind of like a beret.

I'm ready to start on the front and then the sleeves and hood. I hope it's finished in time for wearing this winter!

The sweater

is coming along. I've got about 9-10" on the back done. Instead of making it 12" before beginning the armholes, I'm going to make it 13-13.5" so I don't have to keep tugging it down while wearing it. It seems like so many things come just to where they barely touch the top of my pants and so when I sit down skin shows.

It's coming along, though my hands have really been killing me lately. I just want to knit. I just wish it didn't hurt.

I've gotten a little more done on the sweater.

Soon I'll be moving (yup, again) this time, though, we'll be internetless for a little while, so maybe during that time I can knit knit knit and get the sweater finished.

I have a bunch of KnitPicks Wool of the Andes that's dyable and am thinking of making dd a sweater and letting her dye it herself.

I think summer made me just not want to knit. It's cooler out now, so I'm back to knitting. I have to frog the blue sweater I started last December and start over to make it smaller since I'm 40 pounds lighter than before. I'm just a few rows into it and have to take it slowly because my hands/wrists/elbows have really been hurting. :(

The move didn't help much either, as I packed up and got out in about 2 weeks' time. I just haven't had the time to do much at all. So back to the awesome sweater I go. I can't wait to wear it! lol

I'm knitting again.

I'm working on a tank for Sece and then one for me and a blanket for my friend. I should also frog my sweater (the blue one) so I can start over in a SMALLER SIZE! YAY

Some sad news, my favorite yarn store is closing. :( Everything is 1/2 off though, so I got the stuff for Sece's and my tanks for next to nothing. I want to go back for more. Maybe some more Addi turbos.

I've been terrible about posting.

I put that sweater I started away because I started losing weight in January and the sweater was started in size large and I don't plan on being a large next winter. I will be starting it again soon and seeing what size I get to do it in. I have lost 35 pounds and am just about to my goal weight.

I did just finish a baby sweater for my friend, who's due in August. It's King Tut cotton in a sagey green and taupe. I love it. I have to go get some buttons for it and then it's ready to be sent out!

I can't decide if next I'll pick up my sweater or do something else first. I also can't decide if I'll do some sort of hat to go with the sweater.

I started a sweater FOR ME! It's the "Not Your Standard Issue Sweatshirt" from Yarn Girl's Guide to Simple Knits. It's a v-neck with a hood. The color is kind of a dark cobaltish blue. I love it. It's MANOS del URUGUAY number 64. *drool*

It's an IPig!

My IPod Nano needed something to keep it warm since things are cooling off, so I made a little something to keep it cozy.

I used the pattern in Stitch N Bitch Nation for Mobile Monsters (page 230) and adapted it to fit my Nano.

I think the picture makes it look brighter than it is, but it's a very light blue, the same used for the intarsia top I made for Sece. It's KnitPicks Crayon in light blue.

So I had my appointment with my hand guy today and he doesn't believe it's not carpal tunnel, so I start physical therapy on Monday.

Oh my poor poor hands. They hurt.

I decided to work some on the laptop case since it's on such big needles I thought maybe it wouldn't hurt TOO bad. Boy was I wrong. :(

So I started working on it and I'd gotten lazy before and started doing just yellow for the handle. I hate it now and will have to frog all that and go back and redo it in the pretty stripes. :(

My hands and my left wrist really hurt, but I want to work on it so bad.

Turns out there are a few errors in the poncho pattern, so I've had to set it aside until I can figure out how to work it.

I haven't blocked it yet and I'm a wee bit upset that it called for 2 balls of the Rowan Big Wool and there was almost not enough to stitch it up and there wasn't enough for handles. I'm not sure what i'll do to make handles, but I'm not spending another $16 on another ball just to make 2 handles. :(

Vacation

We've been running all over the place. Here, there, everywhere. It's been loads of fun so far, though.

The Easter Bunny came to see Sece and she's so happy with her watering can, Scooby Doo watch and other assorted Easter goodies.

Blocking the belt

I've finished the belt, sewn the ends to points, rinsed it and now it's laid out for blocking. The picture makes it look like it just goes on and on and on. In reality, it's about 60"

Attempt at a baby booty

I decided to quickly try to make the One-Hour Baby Booties from Stitch N Bitch Nation and, while it was very easy and fast, they are TINY on size 8 needles. I think I need to go to at least a 10, if not larger, for these to fit any real baby.

I went to Downtown Yarns today and it was wonderful. The people were helpful and nice, the prices good and d was entertained both by the ladies working there and their sweet dog.

I got the ones on the left (the far left is actually a really pretty deep purple) to make some summer sun hats for Sece (maybe one for me too) and the pink on the right is for an evening bag for my mom, which I still need to buy the beads for. I can't wait to finish a few of my UFOs so I can start on something new.

I did more work on it today. Still 100 rows of herringbone stitch left on the one side and then onto the OTHER side before I am finished.

I had to frog the belt because I screwed something up and had no clue where or how so I'm starting over, but that's ok because it knits up fast.

Sece told me she wants a belt too, but a blue one, not a green one.

The front and back stripe patterns are very different, which I like.

Laptop Case

I'm working on a laptop case, even though I have no laptop.

I'd gotten pretty far along when I realized I'd screwed up and had to frog about 20 rows (insert a big crybaby face here).

I've gotten pretty far along even since then, though.

It started out with me watching everyone creating wonderful works of art with yarn.

I decided I could do it too, so I got some needles and set out to learn to knit.

First, I made a bear for Sece and then a purse for her and then a kerchief .

I made a scarf for my dad for Christmas .

Now I am working on a hat for me and a bag for me.
